How to use a skill

There are two ways. The first is copy and paste, with nothing to install, and that has you working today. The second is to install it on your computer: three minutes, and it's ready for good. Start with whichever you like. Installed, it does more: your Claude has the skill's whole method in front of it, not just the brief.

Before anything else: get your Claude ready A short while, just once, and it knows your business, your brand and how you want it to talk to you. Everything you ask for afterwards comes out better first time. See how →

Right now — copy and paste

Nothing to download, nothing to install and no need to know anything about computers. You tell your Claude why you've come, and we write the text for you.

1

Look for what you need today

Go into Ideas and look for the phrase that sounds like whatever is on your plate this week. If you'd rather go through the catalogue, they are all in Skills.

2

Click Copy

When you click a card, its page opens with a box that says To start now. The text is right there, in plain sight so you can read it before anything else. The Copy button saves it for you.

3

Paste it into your Claude and say what you're bringing

Open a conversation, paste it and replace [write here] with your real case: the quote you have to send on Friday, the customer review that's burning a hole in you, the conversation you've been putting off for weeks. That's it: your Claude knows why you've come and starts working with you.

And what if your Claude doesn't have that skill installed? It doesn't matter: the text asks it, if it doesn't have it, to work alongside you anyway, step by step. You'll go a little slower and without everything the skill carries inside, but the session doesn't break. And if you're going to need it often, then yes, it's worth installing it — read on.

On your computer — download and install

Three minutes, just once, and you have it for good without having to copy anything. It's worth doing with the ones you're going to use every week. If you get stuck anywhere, we'll look at it together at your next support session: it's normal the first time and there's no need to battle with it on your own.

1

Download the skill

On the skill's page, in the box at the bottom (Or take it to your computer), write your first name and surname exactly as we registered you as a TalentIA Pro client, then click Download. A .zip file will download. Every download is recorded.

2

Install it where you'll use it

There are two ways, and which one you need depends on the skill. It says so on its page, at the top, next to the name.

If it says "Claude Code" — the ones that build you a website, an app, or work with your files: unzip the .zip (double-click; you get a folder with the skill's name). Open Claude Code in the folder where you're going to work and tell it: "install the skill I just unzipped, it's in Downloads". It puts it in place for you, and sees it straight away: no need to close it. If you'd rather do it yourself: move the folder into ~/.claude/skills/. If it's the first skill you put there and it doesn't see it, type /reload-skills.

If it doesn't say anything — most of them, the ones you use by talking: don't unzip anything. In your Claude, go to Customize → Skills, click the + button, then + Create skill and Upload a skill, and pick the .zip exactly as you downloaded it. It will show up in your skills list: check that its toggle is on.

The first time, before that: in Settings → Capabilities, "Code execution and file creation" has to be switched on; without it, Claude won't let you upload skills. If your Claude is a company one, whoever administers it switches that on.

The zip also holds a WHAT-IT-IS-FOR.md file: the skill's description in English, to read again whenever you want. The SKILL.md itself is written in Spanish: that's on purpose and there's nothing to translate — Claude reads it as it is and works with you in English.

3

Check that it works

Open a new conversation and call it by its name: for example, "I want to use crea-tu-herramienta". If it asks you for your first name, it's working.

4

Use it on a real case, not on a test one

The proposal you have to send this week, the task that steals hours from you, the numbers you haven't looked at for months. These skills are made for your business for real, and they work better the more real what you bring is: they do the heavy lifting, and what they'll ask you for is your data, your decisions and your go-ahead before anything is sent.

The files you take away

Many skills don't end with a conversation: they end by giving you a file of your own — your profile, your brand, your templates, your guide to replies. That isn't a skill and it's used differently, so here's how.

1

Save it somewhere you'll find it

A folder of your own, not the downloads one. These are the files you're going to use every week for a long time.

2

Leave it in place, or paste it at the start

There are three ways and any of them will do:

  • In the Claude app: inside a Project, in its instructions. Everything you do there comes out already knowing who you are.
  • If you use Claude on your computer: it is saved as a personal skill and loads by itself.
  • And the simple one, which always works: keep it to hand and paste it into the first message.
3

Look it over now and then

Your business changes and these files age: you change your prices, you take someone on, you drop a service. That's why they carry a date. Five minutes every few months and they still hold good.

These files are yours and they live on your computer. They are not sent anywhere. And it's worth knowing one thing: whatever you put inside them, your Claude will read every time — so no passwords, no account numbers and no personal data belonging to your clients.
